Ian has the experience to know exactly what to look for and how to correct the problems withhypnosis and hypnotherapy.

Doctors, Medicine And Hypnotherapy

If you go to a doctor the most common way in which he or she will attempt to help you is with prescribe medicines such as nicotine patches or weight loss pills. These products are unfortunately are not very effective and will only help a very small percentage of the population. Many problems that are associated with smoking cigarettes and being overweight are psychological problems. This is why many people consider it a good idea to go to someone like hypnotherapist Ian Smith who is an expert in psychological problems. There is no reason why some effective modern day medicines cannot be combined with hypnosis and hypnotherapy for the maximum benefits. Doctors and hypnotherapists should be working together to benefit everyone. Unfortunately at this moment in time its not possible because hypnotherapy (although incredibly effective) is not a regulated profession.

Get To The Root Cause

Getting to the root cause of why you smoke or are putting on too much weight is the key to success. Once the root cause to your problems are discovered and eliminated the need to smoke or eat too much is also eradicated. Not surprisingly many professional doctors are referring more of their patients to qualified hypnotherapists like Ian Smith who has had phenomenal success where many medicines have failed to help. Like any other professional Ian Smith does not guarantee success or offer any unfounded claims of success. His referral rates from previous satisfied clients speak for themselves. This is why the the Quays Clinic of Hypnotherapy is one of the most successful clinics in the whole of the United Kingdom.

Hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy combines the skill of using many different physiological tools which includes hypnosis to achieve the successful results that are desired. Hypnosis is just focused attention or concentration. When used correctly hypnosis can achieve a bypass of the analyzing thinking mind so that access to the subconscious mind can take place where all of our habits, behaviors and emotions are stored. Using various hypnotic techniques the unwanted habits and behaviors can be then changed to more positive ones.

Hypnotist Or Hypnotherapist?

If you’ve heard of both a hypnotist and a hypnotherapist you should be aware there is a distinction between the two. Normally a hypnotist is normally defined as a “stage hypnotist” who uses hypnosis for entertainment. A hypnotherapist is just a therapist that uses hypnosis and hypnotherapy for therapeutic change.

Stop Smoking and The Impact on Weight Loss | Quays Clinic of Hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy Durham

How many attempts have you tried to stop smoking, drinking, over or under eating? Do you often wonder if it’s a psychological issue? Are you worried that it’s getting out of control? There are things you can start working on now to help yourself.

Understanding Hypnosis

Have you ever watched someone hypnotize someone on stage or in the streets? Many times when we think of hypnosis we associate it with what we’ve seen on television or some sort of act. It’s not taken seriously. The hypnotist puts the person being hypnotized up to doing crazy and out of the normal things such as barking on command, putting their hand in fire and not reacting to it, or other silly activities.

You Need Not Worry About Being Hypnotized!

Because of this hypnosis is often viewed as a game or in a negative light. When we don’t understand something we call it strange, unusual, or not natural. Unfortunately there are many stage performing hypnotists who give the art of true hypnotherapy a misguided name because people fear what they don’t know.

What Is Hypnosis?

Hypnosis is just complete mental “focused attention” a heightened state of awareness which has nothing to do with being asleep. Hypnosis is just a tool that a therapist uses to help a client by-pass the analyzing part of their mind.
Hypnotism is an old phenomenon. It’s not meant to embarrass anyone. It is meant to help. Hypnosis has helped many people with real issues. It can help with stress management and treating anxiety attacks. Once a person has received help from a hypnotherapist they often are taught self-hypnosis so that they can control their anxiety attacks on their own.

How Hypnotherapy Works

Hypnotherapy is quite simply the skill of using the tool of hypnosis (focused attention) to bypass the thinking analyzing mind with wanted suggestions or visual images that can change unwanted habits, behaviors or emotions.
In your hypnotherapy session, your hypnotherapist is going to help you to relax both physically and mentally so that when the suggestions or visualizations are given by the hypnotist they become programmed in to the subconscious mind where they become permanent memory. There is nothing to be concerned about when it comes to using hypnotherapy. Contrary to what most people believe hypnosis is a natural everyday event that happens to all humans and animals (its a bit like daydreaming). You will only accept suggestions that you truly want and will automatically reject any suggestion that you do not want (you cant be forced to do anything that you do not want to do).
So whatever your case may be, if you need help with weight loss, stop smoking or to treat stress hypnotherapy could possibly be a solution for you.
Clinical hypnotherapist Ian Smith at the Quays Clinic of Hypnotherapy in North Shields is an Internationally respected hypnotist who has helped many hundreds of people to stop smoking and lose weight. If you are looking to find hypnotherapy in Sunderland, hypnosis in Gateshead or Newcastle upon Tyne make the Quays Clinic your first port of call. Social Anxiety | Quays Clinic of Hypnotherapy

Social Anxiety

If you have fear or are severely uncomfortable when it comes to social situations of which you think you may be judged by others, this could be a sign of social anxiety. You should take a social anxiety test which you will find on a social anxiety forum. Overcoming social anxiety is possible when you use effective self hypnosis and self hypnotherapy. Some people experience the physical anxious feelings such as their heart rate speeding up, physically shaking, a short of breath, or sweating. Other symptoms of social anxiety can be stuttering, avoiding social engagements, frequently apologizing, or trying to draw the attention away from yourself. Many people end up taking social anxiety medication when receiving social anxiety treatment.

Social Anxiety Symptoms

Social anxiety symptoms can happen in just about any situation that involves yourself and at least one other person. Social anxiety symptoms can be triggered at any time. You may not experience social anxiety disorder in every social situation. Scientists are still studying the causes of social anxiety disorder and are continually coming up with new effective ways to overcome social anxiety and social phobias. A few reasonable explanations do exist. Just as with other anxiety disorders, some health professionals believe it could be hereditary. Other professionals in the NHS believe that some medications can affect our brains neurotransmitters and send these nervous signals in these situations. Finally, one of the biggest causes of social anxiety disorder is our life experiences. Peoples social anxiety symptoms can be caused by being placed in an uncomfortable situation as a child, forced to speak or act when we didn’t want to. When this happens the subconscious mind records the incident. When later in life a similar incident occurs the subconscious mind remembers and kicks in to survival mode by creating the “fight or flight response” where we avoid the situation at all cost.

Is It Normal To Have Social Anxiety?

Social anxiety can be normal and happens to many people. However, when it becomes an excessive and progressive problem, a professional may diagnose it as social anxiety disorder or social phobia. In generalized social phobia, a person carries that fear of judgment no matter what. They may tend to avoid any social engagement. In non-generalized social phobia, there is a particular social situation they are avoiding such as the job interview or speaking with strangers.

Self Hypnotherapy To Overcoming Social Anxiety

Some will work with you using cognitive behavioral therapy, emphasizing on structure and skill development. Others will gradually expose you to the situation with a view to desensitizing a person to the event that causes the social anxiety symptoms. Take a social anxiety test online to see if you need help with overcoming social anxiety disorder. If you don’t want to take social anxiety medication then consider using self hypnosis or take some self hypnotherapy training.

Self Hypnotherapy And Social Anxiety Treatment

There are many healthcare professionals that can help people deal with social anxiety symptoms. They range from psychiatrists, to clinical hypnotherapists who use hypnosis hypnotherapy to psychologists, and counselors. By far the best social anxiety treatment is with self hypnosis and self hypnotherapy. Some healthcare professionals feel prescribing medications such as Prozac, Valium, or Zoloft will help. Unfortunately social anxiety medication quite often comes with side effects which cause people further distress.

What Is Hypnosis?

Hypnosis is just mental focused attention or concentration which creates a heightened state of awareness. When a person is in the natural state of hypnosis it resembles daydreaming which people commonly refer to as being in a trance or being in auto pilot. We all know what its like when driving home from work when we cant remember much of the journey because we were in auto pilot having done the same journey many times before. Hypnosis is used in therapy as a tool to by-pass the analyzing part of the mind to gain access to the subconscious mind where all of out habits, behaviors and emotions are stored.

What Is Hypnotherapy?

Overcoming Social Anxiety Social Phobias Fear With Hypnosis

Learn hypnosis from a hypnosis video or do some hypnotherapy training with Ian Smith who will help you to understand that not only does hypnosis work but it is incredibly effective for overcoming many different anxiety related problems. It might just surprise you how easy it is to practice the many different hypnotic techniques.

You Will No Longer Be Asking Yourself

Is hypnosis real?

Does hypnosis work?

Does hypnotherapy work? You bet they work.

When you learn hypnosis from a hypnosis video it is nothing like what you see in the children’s game hypnosis Pokemon. When you do some hypnotherapy training with Ian Smith at the Quays Clinic of Hypnotherapy in North Shields he will not make you look silly or get you to do the “funky chicken” like what you would see in stage hypnosis. Ian Smith at the Quays Clinic of Hypnotherapy will help you to eliminate any of  misconceptions about hypnosis that you have possibly hear from friends.

Try This Exercise

Place yourself into the situation that you fear the most making sure that you have a friend with you for support. Then repeat positive self hypnosis, self hypnotherapy affirmations when you think the anxiety is about to start. I know it sounds strange but then “TRY” as hard as you can to bring the panic attack or anxiety attack on. By doing this exercise what you are doing is using reverse psychology. The subconscious mind knows that the word “TRY” means that there is a possibility of failure, so the suggestion to bring the panic attacks or anxiety attacks are not allowed to happen.

The Key To Success When Using Hypnosis Hypnotherapy

The key to overcoming social anxiety using hypnosis hypnotherapy is in the compounding of the positive suggestions or visual images that you give to yourself. The more that you repeat the suggestions in hypnosis the stronger they become. This should stop the social anxiety symptoms before they begin to take effect which means that you don’t end up having to take any social anxiety medication.

If you are taking social anxiety medication and working on the social anxiety causes with hypnosis hypnotherapy on your own and you are still struggling, find a professional hypnotherapist in Newcastle like Ian Smith to help you. Overcoming Bullying Stress And Anxiety | Quays Clinic of Hypnotherapy

Bullying Anxiety

There are many bullying stories, bullying facts and bullying statistics that are available to read online. Many years ago after reading some bullying articles and Tim Fields book I realized that I was a victim of adult bullying. After suffering from bullying at work many years ago for approximately five years, I discovered that the use of self hypnosis and self hypnotherapy was a very valuable way of overcoming the misery that the bullies caused. This workplace bullying brought about a whole spectrum of emotional upset that I couldn’t at the time control. These feelings almost destroyed my life and my marriage because I couldn’t understand what was happening to me and why the bullies were targeting me. I later understood why the bullying was happening and found that it was quite simply because unlike the bullies I was a very honest, hard working person.

Bullying Facts And Bullying Statistics

There is now a wealth of information about cyber bullying, being bullied at school and adult bullying at work which is available online. More and more people and becoming more aware of the devastating physical and mental stress that bullying causes.

  • Self-harm.

  • Procrastination.

My Personal Experiences Of Being Bullied

After reading the bullying stories in Tim Fields book and bullying articles online I realized that it was possible to overcome the trauma that I was suffering from. The trauma that I was suffering from was the hardest thing that I had ever had to deal with in my life. This stress and anxiety not only affected myself but my friends and family. To this day I don’t know how my wife managed to cope with the way that I was treating the people that I loved. I read almost all of the bullying stories, bullying facts and bullying articles that I could get my hands on and realized that self hypnosis and hypnotherapy was my best option to overcome the physical and mental stress.

Read Some Bullying Stories And Fight Back

After reading some bullying articles about the bullying laws in Texas I came to understand that there was very little protection from the effects of bullying in the UK. It seems that our government don’t want to acknowledge that bullying in the workplace happens. Instead of giving up I decided to fight back, which prompted me to study all about bullying. I read Tim Fields book “Bully In Sight” which is a wonderful book that showed me all the different stages that people go through when they are being bullied and how to take away the power that the bullies thought they had over me. His book helped me to understand the difference between neurotic bullies and psychotic bullies and all about the many different stages to expect when the bullies start to attack you.

Self Hypnosis For Bullying

A good friend of mine encouraged me to learn all about self hypnosis to change my habits, emotions and behaviors that were associated with the bullying. It didn’t take me very long to see the wonderful results as these physical feelings and negative thoughts changed. I then decided to learn as much as I could about hypnotherapy. I decided to train at the Northern College of Hypnosis to become a professional clinical hypnotherapist.

My Success In Defeating The Bullies

After successfully completing my hypnosis and hypnotherapy course I was awarded a Distinction D.Hyp in clinical hypnotherapy. I have since found that I can use my own experiences of being bullied to help others to overcome the same unwanted feelings and negative emotions that I suffered from. In my career I have helped many hundreds of people to successfully combat bullying and the horrible negative thoughts that are caused by bullying.

Quit Smoking and Lose Weight | Quays Clinic of Hypnotherapy

Stop Smoking Lose Weight

Are you having problems in your life that you need changed? Do you have an addiction that you know has taken over your life and ruining your health? Have you talked to doctors, family members and friends and heard of their successes to stop their habits and improve their health but nothing is working for them? There are people with smoking, drinking, gambling, and eating issues. Some may have tried to quit and others have not. Those who have tried to quit are facing issues such as no emotional and mental support from others or they may try to quit cold turkey and have lapsed. If this sounds like your case then maybe you need to take a different route.

Figure Out What Your Addiction Is About

In order to quit doing something that you know is bad for you, you need to acknowledge what your issues are. Something is pressured inside of you driving you to smoke, drink, gamble, or whatever the addiction may be for you. They say admitting the problem is the first step. Then the second step would be finding out why you have it. Start keeping a journal to record your thoughts and feelings if you honestly do not know. It will eventually come out.

A Possible Solution Is Hypnotherapy

If you have tried patches, anonymous meetings, chewing gum, and quitting cold turkey you may still have your addiction and never addressed any problems. Maybe you should look into hypnosis. If you were to ask someone what is hypnotherapy there response maybe similar to “that magic like stuff” or “that’s a gimmick”. Unfortunately, it’s hard for people to believe in something we can’t see. Hypnotherapy is actually very helpful for many people.

What Is Hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy is a form of therapy that works while you are in a daydream state. In this trance, issues are identified as long as you are open to discussing it and then eliminated using various hypnotic techniques like (NLP) Neuro-Linguistic Programming. Hypnotism is all about the power of suggestion.

What To Look For In Hypnotherapists?

Hypnotherapists are able to help people with issues such as losing weight and problems quitting smoking. You should look to find a hypnotist that is experienced, registered with one of the main hypnotherapy associations who has recognized qualifications. Do not just go to a hypnotherapist because they are close to you be prepared to travel to a hypnotist who has a respected reputation who has had experience dealing with the problem that you have.

Do Not Be Frightened To Ask Questions

Hypnotherapy for Weight Loss and to Stop Smoking - Quays Clinic of Hypnotherapy

Clinical Hypnotherapy

You may already be aware of the traumatizing effects smoking has on you. Are you looking to stop smoking? Did you know once you do stop you may be able to also lose weight? You will feel better about yourself and possibly save yourself from possible cancers, stroke, heart diseases, and lung diseases.

Bad Habits

Think back to your adolescent years. Were you denied a lot, told no, or maybe yelled at often? You could have a nervous condition stemming back to when you were young that is causing you to smoke. Smoking has been found to be a psychological condition where people believe they truly need to smoke to calm their nerves. Once you have acknowledged your reasons of smoking you are ready to find ways to stop permanently.

What Is Hypnosis?

Hypnosis is simply mental “focused attention or concentration” which is used to bypass the thinking analyzing mind to enable a person access to their subconscious mind where all of our experiences are stored (what we hear, smell, taste, touch and visualize). Hypnosis is a heightened state of awareness which actually has nothing to do with being asleep. Hypnosis is a natural phenomenon which is a bit like daydreaming which both humans and animals naturally go in and out of many times every day. We all know what its like when we go in to “autopilot” when driving a car perhaps not remembering much of the journey but still got to our destination safely.

How You Can Conduct Hypnosis At Home

You could learn self-hypnosis so that you can hypnotize yourself. Once you understand what hypnosis is, you can try some of the techniques your hypnotherapist could recommend for you and do it in the comforts of your own home.
  • Create physical relaxation by staring at a focal point in front of you slowing your breathing down.
  • Create mental relaxation by counting slowly downwards from the number 100 downwards doubling the mental relaxation with each number until you cant be bothered to count anymore (it should just take a few numbers if done correctly).
  • Once you have achieved that, use your imagination to create a relaxed scene in your mind. It could be in a field of flowers, in the clouds, or in a forest watching the birds and animals. In this scene imagine a flight of steps that leads down to a door that leads to a safe and secure room where only you have the key to get in to. Imagine walking slowly down the steps or stairs doubling the physical and mental relaxation until you arrive at the bottom of the stairs. Then imagine yourself entering your safe room and lock the door behind you. Create another scene inside your safe room where you can really use your imagination (what you see, feel, hear, smell and taste).
  • Then imagine resting somewhere in your safe room and quietly in your mind repeat positive suggestions or visual images of becoming successful at what you want to achieve as many times as possible in the time frame you have.
  • When you want to exit self-hypnosis just imagine exiting your safe and secure room and walk back up your stairs back to full awareness.
Please do not attempt self-hypnosis if you suffer from any form of psychosis or have suffered any kind of head trauma without consulting your own doctor or professional clinical hypnotherapist. They will be able to give your all the advice that you require.
