Sex Disorders
Sexual problems, sexual dysfunction or sexual malfunction, they are all the same. A sexual problem is defined as having difficulty through any stage of sexual activity including desire, arousal, orgasm or preference. This can be experienced by an individual or a couple. In order to diagnose sexual problems, a thorough general health assessment and sexual history evaluation needs to be completed. Most sexual problems fall under the categories of sexual desire disorders, sexual arousal disorders, orgasm disorders and pain disorders.Male And Female Sexual Problems
Low sexual desire is also known as
inhibited sexual desire. It is defined as a low or no sexual interest.
A person with this problem will usually not begin an type of sexual
activity or will not respond to their partner’s desire for sexual
activity. ISD can either relate to someone never have an interest in
sex or someone who may have had interest at one time but no longer does.
This is a quite common problem and
usually stems from one person not having a sexual interest in their
partner for one reason or another. These reasons can include financial
problems, communication issues, no affection in the relationship or
power struggles. Other causes may include traumatic sexual experiences
such as rape or incest. It can also be because someone has had a strict
religious upbringing.
Hypnotherapy is a fantastic way to treat
a person that has a low sexual desire include. Hypnotherapy works on
the underlying issues that are causing the sexual issues. Couples may
also be shown how to communicate more or resolved conflicts.
Communication training is a way to show couples how to actually talk to
each other with empathy and sensitivity.
Premature Ejaculation
Premature ejaculation is when a man
ejaculates too soon or sooner that their partner would like. If this
happens every so often, there is usually not a problem. However, if
this seems to be an ongoing issue, this is considered premature
ejaculation. Premature ejaculation is one of the most common sexual
problems among men.
Treatment for premature ejaculation
usually includes therapy, medications along with psychotherapy and
hypnotherapy. One or a combination of these can be used. Sexual therapy
involves steps such as masturbating an hour before intercourse so that
ejaculation during intercourse can be delayed. Certain antidepressants
and topical anesthetic creams are used to treat this problem but by far
the most effective way of overcoming sexual problems is with
hypnotherapy.
Overcoming Pain During Intercourse
Painful intercourse happens with many
women at least once in their lives. It becomes a problem when the pain
becomes either persistent or recurring. The genital pain will normally
occur before, during or after sex. The symptoms may be pain with sexual
entry, pain with only certain partners and not others or pain under
specific circumstances but not all, burning or aching or intense pain
during thrusting.
The two most common treatments for pain
during intercourse are medication and hypnotherapy. The kind of
medication given will depend on the underlying issue. For instance, if
the pain is experienced in post-menopausal women, this may be due to not
enough lubrication so prescription creams or tablets may be given. If
you suffer from one of the many different types of sexual problems
please do not suffer in silence.
