What Is Cellulite | Quays Clinic of Hypnotherapy

Cellulite

If you pay close attention to your body often you may have started to notice unsightly changes that you aren’t happy with. As our weight fluctuates we notice stretch marks and other lumpy signs on our bodies. You wonder if this is the beginning stages of cellulite. So if you’ve been wondering about cellulite here is a bit more information for you.

What Is Cellulite?

Cellulite is fat deposits built up under your skin. It creates a bumpy cottage cheese look. It’s more common around the thighs, legs, arms, stomach, and buttocks area. Cellulite comes in three stages. The first stage has no visible signs. You need a microscope to even tell it’s there. In the second stage your skin has less elasticity in it and it’s still hard to detect. The third stage is the most common. This is where your skin has the orange peel or cottage cheese look.

What Are The Causes Of Cellulite?

Cellulite can occur in men and women but most often seen in women. It is not just something that attacks full figured people either. Cellulite is found on smaller people as well. For women, the older they become their estrogen levels decrease. This has a significant effect on blood vessels decreasing circulation. There is less oxygen and thus less nutrients being carried to certain areas of the body. The collagen production is lessened and more fat cells are being produced.

How To Reduce Cellulite

  • Watch Your Diet – Foods that contain high calories, carbs, or too much salt settle and create fat.
  • Exercise – When you exercise you increase your blood flow and circulation. You burn fat so it’s not deposited.
  • Watch Your Clothing – Clothing that is too tight around your body restricts blood flow.

The Cure For Cellulite

For those looking for a cellulite cure they need to reduce the fat in the areas, increase the collagen, and find a way to increase their circulation. There are many treatments on the market for cellulite.
  • Creams – There are anti cellulite creams claiming they reduce cellulite or eliminate it all together. However, they are not really getting rid of cellulite. The cellulite creams block and target the fat cells and not the circulation issues.
  • Laser treatments – The lasers heat the fat so it can melt. Then using a rolling machine it will massage cellulite out of those areas and increase circulation as well.
  • Injections – Fat is injected to the area of cellulite in an attempt for the texture to be evened out. The problem is you are now stuck with the additional fat in your body.
So as you can see there are many treatments out there on the cure for cellulite. Be careful in your selection especially if you are looking at laser and surgery treatments. As always consult with a reputable doctor and surgeon before performing any of these treatments.
